In Greece, a “taverna” is a small, lively,
family-owned restaurant where friends gather
to eat, drink, and enjoy each other’s
company. Often the husband does the cooking
while the wife manages the dining room.
Atlantis Taverna in downtown Sun Prairie is
such a place. Proprietors Beth and Telly
Fatsis have brought to you authentic Greek
family recipes, and invite you to experience
the Mediterranean in this cozy, friendly,
and colorful taverna.
Atlantis Taverna is located in a renovated
100+ year-old building in historic downtown
Sun Prairie. We have added a patio to
the rear of the building for outdoor dining.
There is ample parking in the city-owned lot
behind the building, and parking is always
free.
Atlantis Taverna features:

The
evil eye curse is a belief that was widespread
in ancient Greece and Rome, as well as Turkey
and many other Mediterranean countries..
If you suddenly felt dizzy and weak, with a
headache and nausea, you may have been cursed
with the evil eye. This curse is
associated with jealousy or envy--if someone is
intensely jealous of you, he or she may be
giving you the evil eye curse. Often,
however, the curse is unintentional--you may
compliment a friend on his new clothes or new
car and suddenly he has been cursed. To
ward off the spell, Greeks will wear an evil eye
charm like the one seen here, as well as hang
them in their homes over the doorways (so that
no evil enters the home). |

AAHH, the spectacular Greek coastline. If
you get a chance to travel to Greece, you'll be
in for a culinary treat! You may also be
invited to sample some homemade Retsina wine,
which many restaurants offer as their own house
wine. |
